SRX5274937: RNA-seq of Podarcis muralis: adult male skin
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 1500) run: 65.5M spots, 15.1G bases, 4.7Gb downloads

Design: Illumina libraries were prepared using total RNA following the TruSeq RNA Sample Preparation Kit protocol and sequenced on Illumina HiSeq 1500 with 2 x 125 bp paired-ends reads
Submitted by: CIBIO-InBIO
Study: Podarcis muralis Genome sequencing and assembly
show Abstracthide Abstract
This project is aimed at understanding the genetic basis underlying colour polymorphisms in lizards, using the common wall lizard (Podarcis muralis) as a model. Using phenotypic, genomic and gene expression analysis, and using a de novo reference genome as a backbone, we mapped traits (colour morphs) to specific genomic regions, for the first time identifying the genes that regulate the expression of pterin and carotenoid-based pigmentation in reptiles.
