SRX3350440: DNA-Seq of Brycon orbignyanus
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 89.1M spots, 16G bases, 10.2Gb downloads

Design: Design: A single primary genomic library was prepared by random fragmentation of purified DNA, followed by size selection through agarose gel electrophoresis, for 500 bp inserts. Sequencing occupied around 50% of a single flow-cell lane and was targeted to reach around a 10X depth coverage. Short reads are 90 bases paired-end. This data was filtered for quality and duplicates and placed in a couple of twin fastq files.

Brycon orbignyanus was once one of the major fisheries resources in the Platine Basin in South America. It is now almost extinct in the wild and focus of ex situ conservation efforts aiming fish stocking. This genomic DNA paired-end short reads data set provides the first broad genomic data for this species and will be helpful in providing new genetic information able to sustain research, production and conservation initiatives in this fish (e.g. new genes characterizations, source for rapid molecular markers development, comparative studies and etc.).
Sample: Model organism or animal sample from Brycon orbignyanus
