SRX1804913: Illumina sequencing of Nicotiana attenuata corollas, late
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 20.6M spots, 4.1G bases, 2.7Gb downloads

Design: Nicotiana attenuata wild type plants were germinated and grown in 1 l pots under standard glasshouse conditions as described previously [Kruegel, T., Lim, M., Gase, K., Halitschke, R. and Baldwin, I.T. (2002) Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of Nicotiana attenuata, a model ecological expression system. Chemoecology, 12, 177–183]. Corollas were harvested from early flowers of Nicotiana attenuata. Samples were collected at 6 pm (open flowers) and 9am (closed flower after opening), 4-10 samples were pooled. Total RNA was isolated and used for Illumina HiSeq library construction.

show Abstracthide Abstract
Nicotiana attenuata has been used to study plant-organism interactions (e.g. insect herbivores, pollinators and pathogenic microorganisms) for more than 20 years. A large amount of adaptive biochemical and morphological plasticity responses to environmental signals are known.
Sample: Plant sample (corollas, late) from Nicotiana attenuata
