SRX1804908: Illumina sequencing of Nicotiana attenuata anthers
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 20.7M spots, 4.1G bases, 2.8Gb downloads

Design: Nicotiana attenuata wild type plants were germinated and grown in 1 l pots under standard glasshouse conditions as described previously [Kruegel, T., Lim, M., Gase, K., Halitschke, R. and Baldwin, I.T. (2002) Agrobacterium-mediated transformation of Nicotiana attenuata, a model ecological expression system. Chemoecology, 12, 177–183]. Anthers were harvested from flowers of Nicotiana attenuata. Samples were collected in the afternoon, 60 samples were pooled. Total RNA was isolated and used for Illumina HiSeq library construction.

show Abstracthide Abstract
Nicotiana attenuata has been used to study plant-organism interactions (e.g. insect herbivores, pollinators and pathogenic microorganisms) for more than 20 years. A large amount of adaptive biochemical and morphological plasticity responses to environmental signals are known.
Sample: Plant sample (anthers) from Nicotiana attenuata
