SRX1684683: RNA-seq of Dendroctonus ponderosae: adult unfed male midgut isolate 1
1 ILLUMINA (NextSeq 500) run: 24.9M spots, 3.7G bases, 1.7Gb downloads

Design: Total RNA was isolated from midgut & fat body tissue of 10 adult beetles, followed by poly-A selection of mRNA, followed by strand-specific sequencing library prep by the Georgia Genomics Facility.
Submitted by: University of Nevada Reno
Study: Dendroctonus ponderosae midgut and fat body transcriptome sequencing gene expression project
show Abstracthide Abstract
Pine bark beetles have a significant negative economic impact on western coniferous forests. They are difficult to control by conventional methods because they spend the majority of their lives protected beneath the bark of their hosts, where they must deal with toxic resin components. In this project, Illumina RNA-seq is used to identify transcriptome-wide changes in gene expression due in fed and unfed mountain pine beetles.
Sample: Mountain pine beetle adult unfed male midgut isolate 1
