SRX3993624: Transcriptome sequencing of subsocial spider Stegodyphus lineatus
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 43.3M spots, 8.5G bases, 2.6Gb downloads

Design: To enable inference of the coding substitution patterns between S. africanus and S. mimosarum, we obtained transcriptomes of the two species as well as an outgroup species (S. lineatus). Libraries of an S. lineatus and an S. africanus individual were constructed using Illuminas TruSeq Stranded mRNA LT Sample Prep Kit, and sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq2000 platform (100 bp paired-end). For S. mimosarum, quality filtered transcriptome data, also sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq 2000 platform (100 bp paired-end), from a previous study was used (Sanggaard, et al. 2014).

Study: X chromosome evolution in spiders
show Abstracthide Abstract
The goal of this study is to provide a novel method to identify X chromosome scaffolds from autosome scaffolds in whole genome sequencing data. The fact that numerous genomes are being sequenced at the moment makes this highly relevant. Subsequently we perform comparative analyses on substitution patterns and diversity levels of X chromosomes and autosomes, to broaden the understanding beyond the current knowledge that mostly comes from model species
Sample: Invertebrate sample from Stegodyphus lineatus
