show Abstracthide AbstractSpiroplasma citri is a bacterium that causes stubborn disease of citrus and is transmitted by leafhoppers in a circulative and persistent manner. Due to limited sequence data on S. citri, several strains of bacterium were isolated from various hosts and locations in California. DNA from S. citri was extracted from a pure culture in LD8 and subjected to PacBio sequencing. The genomes developed extend the sequence database of S. citri and allow for comparative genomics analyses.
