show Abstracthide AbstractMelon (Cucumis melo L.) is an important Cucurbitaceae crop widely produced in the world. It exhibits a wide genetic variation including both climacteric and non-climacteric fruit types. The climacteric melon cultivar "Earls favorite Harukei-3 (Harukei-3)" is known for its sweetness and rich aroma, and hence used for breeding of high-grade muskmelon in Japan. In this study, we conducted RNA-seq transcriptome in 30 different tissues of the "Harukei-3" melon to investigate tissue-wide gene coexpression network. Plants were grown under greenhouse conditions, and Total RNA was isolated from root, upside stem, middle stem, expanded leaves, young leaves, male flower anther, female flower stigma and ovary, petal, regenerating callus (somatic embryo), and the flesh and peel at 2 to 50 day after fertilization. Fastq datasets were obtained by 125-bp Illumina Hiseq paired-end sequencing.
