SRX12626601: WGS of MPE01425
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina NovaSeq 6000) run: 35.1M spots, 10.5G bases, 3.4Gb downloads

Design: Genomic DNA randomly fragmented by sonication, DNA fragments end polished, A-tailed, ligated with the full-length Illumina adapters, followed by PCR amplification with P5 and indexed P7 oligos. PCR product libraries purified with AMPure XP system. Libraries then checked for size distribution by Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer (Agilent Technologies, CA, USA), and quantified by real-time PCR (to meet 3 nM).

Study: The first true millipede: 1,306 legs long
show Abstracthide Abstract
We discovered a new record-setting species of millipede with 1,306 legs from Western Australia. This diminutive animal (0.95 mm X 95.7 mm) has 330 segments, a cone- shaped head with enormous antennae, and a beak for feeding. Using phylogenomics, we found that super-elongation (>180 segments) evolved repeatedly in the class Diplopoda.
