show Abstracthide AbstractAcidithrix sp. C25 is heterotrophic acidophilic iron-oxidizing bacterium isolated from central basin of acidic lignite mine lake 77 located in the Lusatian district of Brandenburg, Germany. Acidithrix genus is a novel genus that belongs to Acidimicrobiaceae family within the class Acidimicrobiia and only one representative strain Acidithrix ferrooxidans Py-F3 was isolated and sequenced (Jones and Barrie Johnson 2015). Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Acidithrix sp. C25 to enlarge the database of the new Acidithrix genus and a preliminary genome analysis that reveals metabolic potential in iron-rich pelagic aggregates (iron snow).
