show Abstracthide AbstractThis is a reference bacterial genome from a study to characterize how plant host genes affect the microbiome community assemblage and how the microbiome influences plant phenotypes, such as drought or salt tolerance, nutrient use, productivity, pathogen resistance, and yield. Plant-associated metagenomes are being characterized by 16S ribotyping, metagenome and reference genome sequencing and metatranscriptome sequencing. Experimental systems used to characterize the interplay between host and associated communities in different plant types have been chosen to be relevant to energy and environmental concerns, for example, Arabidopsis as a model, corn, and a key biofuel crop (Miscanthus).
