Lactobacillus gasseri K7 is an isolate from a child's faeces with in vitro and in vivo established probiotic properties. The gassericins K7 A (gassericin K7A [GenBank: EF392861]) and K7 B (gassericin K7 B [GenBank: AY307382]) produced by this strain are particularly interesting due to a wide range of activity against Gram-positive bacteria.
