This project focused on exploring the microbial communities of hypogenic cavities generated by rising waters and related to tectonic and hydrothermal activity. Its aim is to define for the first time the environmental conditions of this type of caves and characterize the microbial agents and mechanisms responsible for consumption and emissions of GHGs in the shallow vadose zone.
