1 OXFORD_NANOPORE (MinION) run: 76,167 spots, 1.2G bases, 280.1Mb downloads

Design: DNA was extracted using phenol:chloroform and ethanol precipitation . High molecular weight DNA (>20kb) was isolated using a Blue Pippin (Sage Science, Beverly, MA, USA) with a High Pass Plus Casette. Nanopore libraries were generated with the SQK-LSK109 1D Genomic Ligation kit (Oxford Nanopore, Oxford Science Park, UK). Reads were generated with a R9.4.1 flow cell using a 48-hour script. Reads were basecalled with guppy v2.3.1+1b9405b6.

Study: Complete Genomes of Thermophiles Isolated from Yates Shaft, a Deep-Subsurface Environment
show Abstracthide Abstract
The complete genomes of seven thermophiles that could grow at >55C, but not at 37C, were generated. These thermophilic bacteria will play a useful role as model microorganisms, and analyzing their genomes will help to understand the observed production of novel bioactive compounds, including thermozymes and macromolecules.
