SRX8400042: DNA of Blastomyces gilchristii
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 23.6M spots, 4.8G bases, 2.5Gb downloads

Design: DNA was sheared to ~250 bp using a Covaris LE and sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq2000 platform to generate 101 base paired-end reads.

Blastomycosis has been reported from countries in Africa and the Middle East, but a decades-long debate has persisted regarding whether this is the same disease known in North America and caused by Blastomyces dermatitidis and B. gilchristii and the difference with the disease caused by recently described Blastomyces species, B. percursus and B. emzantsi. We sequenced and characterized isolates causing blastomycosis in Africa and the Middle East.
