show Abstracthide AbstractWe applied shotgun metagenomic sequencing to study the microbiome and the abundance of antimicrobial resistance genes in a moderately polluted mountain river (Lockwitzbach, South-East Germany). In particular, we were interested in (1) the diversity of antibiotic resistance genes, (2) possible relations between resistome and community composition, as well as (3) the impact of wastewater disposal on the prevalence of antimicrobial resistance in the receiving river.
