Study: Contribution of gene expression to ecological speciation in oak
show Abstracthide Abstract
A key question in biology is how organisms adapt to their environment. To answer this question we position our research in forest tree genomics at the crossroad between two levels of information : the genetic unit (individual, population, species complex) and the genetic information (standing structural genetic variation, result of gene regulation reflected by transcript abundance). Intersections between these two factors define specific research questions aiming to better understand the structure, function and evolution of the oak genome. The oak data associated with the present sequence batch aimed at studying the role of expressional variation in ecological speciation (between sessile and pedunculated oak) in different environmental settings (drought and anoxia)
