show Abstracthide AbstractLeishmania tarentolae is a protozoan parasite of lizards and non-pathogenic to mammals. Genome information of the non-pathogenic species will facilitate to understand pathology caused by species pathogenic to mammals. The genome sequence of L. tarentolae has been reported in 2012, whereas the data generated by next generation sequencing technology may not cover the full genome leading to apparent gene loss in the species. This project comprises re-sequencing of L. tarentolae genome by SMRT sequencing technology followed by gene annotation in order to compensate the previously reported version of the genome information.
