Wild rice Oryza punctata plants contains diploids having BB genomes and allotetraploids having BBCC genomes. The evolutional origin of allotetraploids, especially the origin of CC genome, remains unclear. In order to obtain genome sequence information of the allotetraploids, we sequenced a total of eight O. punctata tetraploid accessions by Illumina HiSeq 2500.
