TEXT

Cloning and Expression

By searching databases for genes similar to LRRN6A (LINGO1; 609791), Carim-Todd et al. (2003) identified LRRN6C. The deduced 606-amino acid protein, which they designated LERN3, has an N-terminal leucine-rich repeat (LRR) domain, followed by 10 typical LRR domains, a C-terminal LRR domain, an IgC2 domain, a transmembrane domain, and a cytoplasmic tail. It shares 60% amino acid identity with LRRN6A.

Mapping

By genomic sequence analysis, Carim-Todd et al. (2003) mapped the LRRN6C gene to chromosome 9.
