Summary:
The 2nd edition of Thailand HiT review presents comprehensive information on the country’s health system. The review updated the data on the country and provides information on reforms towards UHC and to address emerging health needs. Thailand’s health system has witnessed limited major reforms since the first publication of the HIT report in 2015. Noteworthy developments include the devolution of subdistrict health centres from the Ministry of Public Health to locally elected governments at the provincial level. The major challenges since the last HiT was published include the ongoing challenge of NCD’s in the context of an ageing population.
