1.

2H-Benzo(a)quinolizin-2-ol, 2-Ethyl-1,3,4,6,7,11b-hexahydro-3-isobutyl-9,10-dimethoxy-

Proposed catecholamine depletor.

Year introduced: 2005(1988)

2.

CA-19-9 Antigen

Sialylated Lewis(a) blood group carbohydrate antigen found in many adenocarcinomas of the digestive tract, especially pancreatic tumors.

Year introduced: 1995

3.

3-alpha-Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase (B-Specific)

A 3-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase which catalyzes the reversible reduction of the active androgen, DIHYDROTESTOSTERONE to 5 ALPHA-ANDROSTANE-3 ALPHA,17 BETA-DIOL. It also has activity towards other 3-alpha-hydroxysteroids and on 9-, 11- and 15- hydroxyprostaglandins. The enzyme is B-specific in reference to the orientation of reduced NAD or NADPH.

Year introduced: 2004

4.

Interferon-Stimulated Gene Factor 3, gamma Subunit

An interferon regulatory factor that recruits STAT1 PROTEIN and STAT2 PROTEIN heterodimers to interferon-stimulated response elements and functions as an immediate-early protein.

Year introduced: 2006

5.

Caspase 9

A long pro-domain caspase that contains a CASPASE RECRUITMENT DOMAIN in its pro-domain region. Caspase 9 is activated during cell stress by mitochondria-derived proapoptotic factors and by CARD SIGNALING ADAPTOR PROTEINS such as APOPTOTIC PROTEASE-ACTIVATING FACTOR 1. It activates APOPTOSIS by cleaving and activating EFFECTOR CASPASES.

Year introduced: 2007(2005)

6.

Caspase 3

A short pro-domain caspase that plays an effector role in APOPTOSIS. It is activated by INITIATOR CASPASES such as CASPASE 9. Isoforms of this protein exist due to multiple alternative splicing of its MESSENGER RNA.

Year introduced: 2007(1995)

7.

7,8-Dihydro-7,8-dihydroxybenzo(a)pyrene 9,10-oxide

7,8,8a,9a-Tetrahydrobenzo(10,11)chryseno (3,4-b)oxirene-7,8-diol. A benzopyrene derivative with carcinogenic and mutagenic activity.

Year introduced: 1991(1987)

8.

Sodium-Hydrogen Exchanger 3

A sodium-hydrogen antiporter expressed primarily by EPITHELIAL CELLS in the kidneys, it localizes to the apical membrane of the PROXIMAL KIDNEY TUBULE, where it functions in sodium and water reabsorption and possibly calcium homeostasis. It also is expressed in heart, brain, and lung tissues and is resistant to AMILORIDE inhibition.

Year introduced: 2018 (1994)

9.

Uncoupling Protein 3

A mitochondrial uncoupling protein that is expressed in heart and skeletal muscle tissues. It functions to regulate tissue respiration, energy balance, and THERMOGENESIS. Mutations in the UCP3 gene are associated with OBESITY.

Year introduced: 2017 (1997)

10.

NLR Family, Pyrin Domain-Containing 3 Protein

An NLR protein that contains an N-terminal PYRIN DOMAIN and ATP-binding site and 9 C-terminal LEUCINE-rich repeats; it is expressed primarily by MACROPHAGES. It is a core component of the INFLAMMASOME and directs its assembly in response to pathogen infection and damage-associated stimuli. Mutations in the NLRP3 gene are associated with FAMILIAL COLD AUTOINFLAMMATORY SYNDROME.

Year introduced: 2017

Date introduced: January 1, 1975

13.
14.

Granisetron

A serotonin receptor (5HT-3 selective) antagonist that has been used as an antiemetic for cancer chemotherapy patients.

Year introduced: 1994

15.

3-(6-amino-9H-purin-9-yl)-cyclopentanol [Supplementary Concept]
