Sample GSM1679829 Query DataSets for GSM1679829
Status Public on Jul 31, 2015
Title Epidermis, separated from VDR knockout (KO) skin
Sample type RNA

Source name Skin, epidermis separated from dermis by diapase treatment of the back skin
Organism Mus musculus
Characteristics age: P5
genotype: VDR fl/fl Cre K14 driven
strain: C57BL6
tissue: skin
Treatment protocol K14CreVDR KO mice and their littermate control mice at P5 were sacrified. The genotypes were determined by extacting tail DNA by using PCR. The back skin was excised from mice and treated with dispase. The epidermis was separated from dermis. RNA was extracted from epidermis of each mice. The gene expression for specific genes were evaluated by reverse transcription and QPCR to confirm that the variation of gene expression is small within the group. The RNA was combined from 3 mice for CON and VDR KO group.
Growth protocol Vitamin D receptor (VDR) is removed from keratin 14 (K14) expressing keratinocytes by using Crelox stragety
Extracted molecule total RNA
Extraction protocol RNA was extracted with Stat60 reagent, followed by clean-up and DNase I treatment with QIAGEN RNeasy mini kit in accordance with the prescribed protocol provided with the kit. Quality control was performed with Agilent Bioanalyser.
Label Biotin
Label protocol Standard Illumina hybridization protocol cDNA labeled by Biotin and detected by Cy3-streptoavidin

Hybridization protocol Standard Illumina hybridization protocol done by UCLA neuroscience genomics core
Scan protocol Standard Illumina scanning protocol
Description combined triplicates of VDR KO epidermis
Data processing data were normalized by using quantile method in Genome studio V2011.1
