Total RNA was isolated from cell pellets using mirVana kit (Ambion/Life Technologies) according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Total RNA was eluted in 100 µl H2O, concentration measured on NanoDrop ND-1000.

The slides were scanned immediately after washing on the Agilent Microarray Scanner G2565C using protocol GE1_107_Sep09 for the expression microarrays and protocol.

The scanned images were analyzed using Feature Extraction Software 10.7.3.1 (Agilent Technologies) using default parameters. The expression profiles was RMA normalized for miRNA expression data. Filtering of controls, unannotated genes and low expressed probes was done.
