ms1 pistils (100 per collection) were either collected at stage 14 without pollination, or pollinated at 9am with respective genotypes and allowed to grow for 8 hours

Total RNA was extracted using the RNeasy kit (Qiagen), The yield and RNA purity were determined by Nano-Drop (Thermo Scientific), and RNA integrity was checked using an Agilent 2100 Bioanalyzer (Agilent Technologies)
