Title |
Corpora cavernosa fibroblasts mediate penile erection |
Organism |
Mus musculus |
Experiment type |
Expression profiling by high throughput sequencing
|
Summary |
Penile erection is mediated by the corpora cavernosa, a trabecular-like vascular bed, which enlarges upon vasodilation, but its regulation is not completely understood. Here, we show that perivascular fibroblasts in the corpora cavernosa support vasodilation by reducing norepinephrine availability. We used scRNAseq to investigate fibroblast heterogeneity in the penis.

Overall design |
Slc1a3-derived cells were isolated from adult mouse penises using the Slc1a3CreERT;tdTomato line. Cells were sorted based on tdTomato expression in 384 well plates containing lysis buffer and subject to scRNAseq.
