Title |
Diagnostic value of circulating miR-146b-5p and miR-222-5p in patients with acute myocardial infarction |
Organism |
Rattus norvegicus |
Experiment type |
Non-coding RNA profiling by array

Summary |
In this study we aim to evaluate the diagnostic value of miRNAs for in the detection of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). We used microRNA microarray to screen differentially expressed microRNAs (miRNAs) in rat myocardial infarcted tissues compared with healthy control tissues. Then the expression of these miRNAs was further verified by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) in rat myocardial infarcted tissues and plasma. Finally, the diagnostic value of these circulating miRNAs was explored in 44 patients with AMI, 53 with coronary heart disease (CHD) and 56 healthy controls.

Overall design |
Firstly, the left ventricles of rats from 3 control groups and 3 myocardial infarction groups were collected and microarray analyzed to identify the differentially expressed miRNAs,then verified by RT-PCR at the animal level to screen out the differentially expressed miRNAs,and finally, the clinical patients with AMI were collected to further verify their diagnostic value in the clinic.
