Title Short Noncoding RNAs as predictive biomarkers for the development from Inflammatory Bowel Disease Unclassified to Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis
Platform organism synthetic construct
Sample organism Homo sapiens
Experiment type Non-coding RNA profiling by array
Summary To find predictive biomarkers for the development from inflammatory bowel disease unclassified (IBDU) to Crohn's disease(CD) or ulcerative colitis (UC), we performed short non-coding RNA profiling on IBDU patient samples at the time of diagnostic endoscopy.
Overall design Mucosal tissue biopsies from IBDU patients(35) who were reclassified to CD (IBDU-CD, 12), UC (IBDU-UC, 15) or remained as IBDU (IBDU-IBDU, 8)), and 8 IBD patients were used in the study.
