Title Transcriptomics of Kidney Transplant Recipients after Cytomegalovirus DNAemia

Summary To study the gene expression dynamics in cytomegalovirus (CMV) DNAemic patients after kidney transplantation, we performed RNA sequencing (RNAseq) on 31 DNAemic patients at 4 timepoints (baseline, 1 week post-DNAemia, 1 month post-DNAemia, and a long-term timepoint 9-18 months post-DNAemia) matched with 31 non-DNAemic patients at 2 timepoints (baseline and long-term).
 
Overall design Whole blood samples were obtained from kidney transplant patients that a) developed CMV DNAemia or b) did not develop CMV DNAemia. Baseline, 1 week post-DNAemia, 1 month post-DNAemia, and 9-18 months post transplant samples were collected from CMV DNAemic patients. Baseline and 9-18 months post transplant samples were collected from non-DNAemic patients. All samples were sequenced on the Illumina HiSeq3000 platform.
