Title Molecular characterization of NICOTINAMIDASE 3 gene in perspective of drought tolerance mechanism in Arabidopsis
Organism Arabidopsis thaliana
Experiment type Expression profiling by array
Summary Gene expression profiles of roots and shoots of WT and NIC3 OX plants under control and 5 days rought-stressed conditions were analyzed using the custom microarray (GPL19830).

Overall design Seeds of Arabidopsis thaliana (Col-0 ecotype) were grown on MS medium at 22°C under 16-h-light/8-h-dark for 10 days. Plantlets were then transferred to ceramics granular soil (size 2.5L, Sakatanotane, Japan) and grown for 5 days at 22°C. The drought treatment was then commenced by removing excess water from the trays and ceasing any subsequent watering. Roots and shoots were harvested separately under control conditions and at 5 days after the onset of drought treatment.
