Title microRNA array analysis of differentiated HL60 cells with PfbA

Summary Previous studies indicate that host phagocytes are regulated by a complex combination of pattern recognition receptors-signaling and miRNA inductions. We performed microRNA array to determine whether S. pneumoniae PfbA suppresses phagocytosis via miRNA inductions.
Overall design We performed microRNA array analysis using neutrophil like-differentiated HL60 cells, S. pneumoniae strains and rPfbA. We compared rPfbA-treated and non-treated cells, wild type and ∆pfbA-infected cells, and ∆pfbA with rPfbA-infected and ∆pfbA solely infected cells. In each cell sample, 6 replicates were pooled and microRNA was purified from the pooled cells.
