Thermodesulfobacterium commune

Hyperthermophilic sulfate reducing bacterium

Lineage: Bacteria[37505]; Thermodesulfobacteriota[569]; Thermodesulfobacteria[20]; Thermodesulfobacteriales[20]; Thermodesulfobacteriaceae[15]; Thermodesulfobacterium[7]; Thermodesulfobacterium commune[1]
Thermodesulfobacterium commune.Isolated from a volcanic hot spring, Thermodesulfobacterium commune is a hyperthermophilic sulfate reducing bacterium. Is expresses a unique type of dissimilatory sulfite reductase which is taxonomically distinct from that of related genera or other hyperthermophilic sulfate reducers.
