Rad suppresses the NF-Kappa-B mediated transcription and downstream gene activation. Rad can directly bind to RelA/p65 and suppress the interaction of RelA/p65 with the NF-kappa-B response DNA element.

Rad GTPase inhibits the NFκB pathway through interacting with RelA/p65 to impede its DNA binding and target gene transactivation.
