ncRNA REG1CP forms an RNA-DNA triplex with a homopurine stretch at the distal promoter of the REG3A gene, through which the DNA helicase FANCJ (FANCJ) is tethered to the core promoter of REG3A protein (REG3A) and facilitates REG3A transcription.

LncRNA REG1CP promotes tumorigenesis through an enhancer complex to recruit FANCJ helicase for REG3A transcription.

Results show that REG3beta binds the surface of extracellular vesicles (EVs), through its lectin domain, thereby interfering with the internalization of EVs by target cells and compromising their functionality. This mechanism could be important in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), since we detected REG3beta+ EVs in blood from PDAC patients.

REG3β modifies cell tumor function by impairing extracellular vesicle uptake.
