    Study on kidney tissue of LETO rats and human HK-2 cell line cultured in the high-glucose medium found that expression of miR-192 was decreased, whereas the expression of Egr1 was increased. miR-192 can act on Egr1 through 3'-UTR to reduce its expression and causing degradation of TGF-beta1 and fibronectin preventing progression of tubulointerstitial fibrosis and diabetic nephropathy.
