    Summary
Enables DNA-binding transcription factor activity; RNA polymerase II cis-regulatory region sequence-specific DNA binding activity; and histone acetyltransferase binding activity. Involved in DNA-templated transcription and cellular response to zinc ion. Acts upstream of or within positive regulation of transcription by RNA polymerase II; response to cadmium ion; and response to oxidative stress. Located in cytoplasm and nucleus. Is expressed in several structures, including cardiovascular system; central nervous system; early conceptus; genitourinary system; and gut. Orthologous to human MTF1 (metal regulatory transcription factor 1). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Nov 2024]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
