  • Complex: the 14-3-3 proteins Rad24 and Rad25 physically interact with Chk1 in fission yeast.;
    Function: rad24 from S. pombe is required for the DNA damage checkpoint which ensures that DNA damage is repaired before mitosis is attempted. S. pombe rad24 null mutants enter mitosis prematurely.;
    Remark: apart from checkpoint control, the 14-3-3 family of proteins plays a key regulatory role in signal transduction, apoptotic, and nutrient-sensing pathways.;
