5-HT2A - 5-hydroxytryptamine (serotonin) receptor 2A
Enables G protein-coupled serotonin receptor activity. Involved in germ-band extension; positive regulation of feeding behavior; and serotonin receptor signaling pathway. Located in plasma membrane. Is expressed in several structures, including adult protocerebrum; dorsal ectoderm; dorsal ectoderm anlage; ganglia; and large field neurons. Used to study generalized anxiety disorder. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis and steatotic liver disease. Orthologous to human HTR2B (5-hydroxytryptamine receptor 2B).
