Vps35 - Vacuolar protein sorting 35
Enables Notch binding activity and small GTPase binding activity. Involved in several processes, including neuron differentiation; positive regulation of cell communication; and positive regulation of endosome to plasma membrane protein transport. Located in endosome; presynaptic active zone; and subsynaptic reticulum. Is expressed in several structures, including anterior endoderm; anterior endoderm anlage; circulatory system; embryonic/larval midgut; and extended germ band embryo. Used to study Parkinson's disease and brain cancer. Human ortholog(s) of this gene implicated in Parkinson's disease and Parkinson's disease 17. Orthologous to human VPS35 (VPS35 retromer complex component). [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
