Summary
This region represents the promoter of the cytochrome P450 family 11 subfamily B member 1 (CYP11B1). This promoter is induced by cyclic AMP through binding of nuclear receptor subfamily 5 members to a conserved sequence element. Paired like homeodomain 1 and estrogen related receptor alpha also associate with this region and may positively regulate promoter activity. This region contains an L1 retroelement insertion that may attenuate promoter activity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2017]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
