Summary
This genomic region is located in an intron of the Hedgehog-interacting protein (Hhip) gene. It was predicted to be a Hedgehog (Hh)-responsive enhancer based on the presence of GLI family zinc finger binding motifs. It was shown to bind Gli1, and was validated as a functional Hh enhancer in a reporter gene assay. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2016]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
