Summary
This record represents a DNase I hypersensitive region that contains an early-firing bidirectional origin of DNA replication. Various replication factors, DNA helicases, and other chromatin-associated proteins are recruited to the core origin sequence during G1 and S phase, disassociating as the cell cycle progresses. These proteins include origin recognition complex subunits 2, 3, 4, and 6; X-ray repair complementing defective repair in Chinese hamster cells 5 and 6; cell division cycle 6; homeobox C10 and C13; and topoisomerase (DNA) I and II. Binding by v-myc avian myelocytomatosis viral oncogene homolog may be important for recruiting minichromosome maintenance complex components and promoting chromatin changes in this region. This sequence can function as an origin of replication in a transgene moved to an ectopic context. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]

RefSeqs maintained independently of Annotated Genomes

These reference sequences exist independently of genome builds. Explain

These reference sequences are curated independently of the genome annotation cycle, so their versions may not match the RefSeq versions in the current genome build. Identify version mismatches by comparing the version of the RefSeq in this section to the one reported in Genomic regions, transcripts, and products above.
