Description

The c.-5C>T variant is located in the 5' untranslated region (5’ UTR) of the RAD51C gene. This variant results from a C to T substitution 5 bases upstream from the first translated codon. This nucleotide position is well conserved in available vertebrate species. Since supporting evidence is limited at this time, the clinical significance of this alteration remains unclear.

This variant is located in the 5' untranslated region of the RAD51C gene. To our knowledge, functional studies have not been reported for this variant. This variant has not been reported in individuals affected with hereditary cancer in the literature. This variant has not been identified in the general population by the Genome Aggregation Database (gnomAD).
