Mycobacterial methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase
This family includes the 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate reductase EC:1.7.99.5 from mycobacteria. The structure for this domain is known to be a TIM barrel. Both MTHFR1 and MTHFR2 found in Mycobacterium smegmatis are involved in de novo methionine biosynthesis and required for antifolate resistance in mycobacteria. Both of these MTHFRs are monomeric and lack flavin coenzymes.
