Figure 50.6The triceps reflex

Place the patient's arm on the thigh for support. The arm is midway between flexion and extension. Identify the triceps tendon posteriorly just above its insertion on the olecranon. Tap briskly on the tendon with the reflex hammer. Note extension of the forearm.
