Summary of Use during Lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of avacopan during breastfeeding. Because avacopan is over 99% bound to plasma proteins, the amount in milk is likely to be low. If the mother an older infant requires avacopan, it is not a reason to discontinue breastfeeding. but until more data become available, an alternate drug may be preferred, especially while nursing a newborn or preterm infant.
