Figure D-8 is a forest plot comparing pain severity that stratifies studies of dronabinol and nabilone during a 1 to 6 month followup period. There are 7 studies, 3 of which are in the dronabinol subgroup and 4 that are in the nabilone subgroup. The mean difference for the studies in the dronabinol subgroup is −0.35 (95% confidence interval −1.08 to 0.44) with an I-squared value of 45.1% and a p-value of 0.162. The mean difference for the studies in the nabilone subgroup is −1.59 (95% confidence interval −2.49 to −0.82) with an I-squared value of 0% and a p-value of 0.422. The overall mean difference is −0.95 (95% confidence interval −1.81 to −0.25) with an I-squared value of 60.3% and a p-value of 0.019. The p-value for heterogeneity between groups is 0.003.
