Summary of Use during Lactation

No information is available on the clinical use of sodium thiosulfate during breastfeeding. However, it is not absorbed orally and the reported side effect after oral use is diarrhea. Withholding breastfeeding for 1 to 2 hours after a dose should allow the drug to be cleared from the maternal bloodstream and breastmilk. Observe the infant for diarrhea.
