How long will it be before the variations in my submitted batch are assigned an ID number?
Although records submitted through Variation Batch Submission (VBS) are on a “fast-track” for SNP ID assignment, and will receive their dbSNP submitted SNP (ss) number assignment immediately upon a successful load, it will still take up to a week for your variations’ ss numbers to be searched in the dbSNP public site as we are still in the process of working out the kinks in the VBS pipeline. RefSNP (rs) number assignment will take up to two weeks.
If you cannot access your ss numbers within one week following the successful load of your submission, please email us at vog.hin.mln.ibcn@bus-pns. (04/13/08)
