Lesions in patients with episodic memory impairment. Memory impairment occurs when strokes occur in areas associated with episodic memory, including the hippocampus, anterior thalamic nucleus, medial papillary nucleus, parahyppocampal gyrus, amygdala, medial thalamic nucleus, and orbitofrontal cortex.
